House Photos

Hey, the long awaited house photos are here... the lighting was not so good as I took the pictures at night but oh well. Here ya go! Oh also, we have about 800 more sq ft in the basement but it's unfinished so we all know what that looks like :)

Here's our bedroom

Here's Evan's office- we're going to paint it and hang stuff. i didn't think you guys wanted to wait any more for photos...

The laundry area is in our hallway by our room- no going up or down stairs! it's AWESOME!

My art room

Guest bath # 1

The living room

And here's Evan doing dishes in our kitchen.

We also have a LARGE pantry and a 1/4 bath off the kitchen by our 2 car garage but I forgot to take photos of that.

And the view from our guest room, the guest room is empty right now, we're going to move our furniture into it this weekend i think.

Anyway-
That's our house!

House, Marriage, and Life in general

Wow! What a wedding! The weather was just great, McDonald's after the wedding was delicious, I finished my cake AND the reception was gorgeous with good food! I even got Evan to dance with me in front of lots of people!!!!!! BEST EVER! 'We danced to Grow Old Along with Me' by Peter Breinholt ( I chose that song because we went to an almost private concert and got to meet him). I will be posting a link to my wedding photos for all y'all to see as soon as I get them edited (I got an awesome deal on the photography because I wanted to edit my own photos). The honeymoon was so much fun too! We had THE BEST hotel ever, ate at chiquey miquey restaurants, had a full day at the spa and we went snowmobiling!

House- We are still getting it, it's just taking longer to get all of the paperwork done... HOPEFULLY within the next week we will be all moved in!!!!! :)

Job- I am looking for a really good ceramics teacher to come work with me at Westlake... or my job is open at Lehi I believe...but they might keep Doug (who is currently working as the third art teacher) on... but for sure, brand new school, a dream for facilities, and it's not that much further than Lehi! Come work with me :) Apply through Alpine School District and if you want interview or professional portfolio help I am more than willing to help out. I'm trying to get Evan to apply for the computer techie of the school- HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?! See the photo of the school below? See the two antenna looking wings? The WHOLE wing on the left is MINE! Cool huh? That's the fine arts wing!

Anyway- There's a quickie of my life, right now I'm oober busy grading final portfolios and such so I gotta run! Ciao!

Home

Well, hopefully everything works out and we can close on this house but the bank accepted our offer! AWESOME! I really liked the location of another house we were looking at but this one is a better deal.... it's almost 700 sq ft larger and it was only five grand more... which isn't bad, five grand is a lot of money but not in house terms. Anyway.

The house is ten minutes away from the high school where I'll be teaching at next year....yes fans I'm switching AGAIN. Here's the skinny. Lehi is way to small for the number of students so they built a new school called Westlake. They are pulling teachers from Lehi to go out to the new school and they want me! :) Not only that but I get to teach Photo AND Art classes! And I get to be the department chair and I get to help out in setting up the classrooms, stocking them with necessary equipment. COOL! Yes I'm tired of feeling like a first year teacher (this will be the third time in two years) but remaining flexible has always helped me be successful...so that's what I'm doing. I'm SO excited to start at a brand new high school though!

Virtual Tour... No I didn't take these- I will take better ones as we get the house... I guess I should say if, if we get the house...

First you walk into our living room through the front door, and it wraps around to the kitchen, half bath, garage- two car! I've never been able to park my car in one! and stairs to the basement...

The upstairs has laundry, FOUR BIG bedrooms and two full baths, one is a master with two sinks, huge tub and a walk-in closet!!! It's going to be SO nice to have a tub and a shower! For the last three years I've had one or the other but not both! Agh! I'm so excited!

The house was smoked in which is why we got it for so cheap but my mom knows how to fix that... it's going to take some work though- cleaning the carpets, walls, cupboards and then painting all the walls...which are HUGE.... so if anyone gets bored.. 'hem hem' ;)

What am I up to?

I really don't like looking for houses. Very stressful. None-the-less... that is what I am up to...and have been up to for the last week. I've found a lot that are BARELY out of my price range (barely as in 20,000... but in a house that's only like 15 percent) and not within that don't need MASSIVE amounts of fixing (which will not work with my FHA loan)...

So far, I have looked in Cedar Hills (which I found a townhouse I love), American Fork----all ghetto, Saratoga Springs- putting an offer on one today there but I doubt I'll get it, Eagle Mountain- very far away, Draper... and I've looked at pictures of homes in Orem, Provo, Sandy, Bluffdale, South Jordan and Herriman.

I don't really want to live in Orem or Provo though because I like being up north a bit more. We'll see what happens and I'll keep you updated!
