Paris Day Two
Today was amazing! We woke up and had fresh croissants and REALLY GOOD hot chocolate! Amazing! Then we took a day tour of Paris in a bus. Our tour guide was very funny. He looked like Robert Redford and Brad Pitt mixed together with a french accent. Anyway, I learned a ton and took a lot of good pictures. Then, we went to Versailles. The Palace was HUGE. Kind of sad the peasants were starving while the nobles lived in luxury. A side note, Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake" - that was just her attitude towards the common person, she didn't understand their struggles. Also, perfume became famous because of Versailles. NO ONE BATHED. Ew. The gardens were of course a favorite of mine. After that, we headed home to have dinner in a really cool restaurant in the basement of an old winery (from the look of things). For dinner we had a thin crust pizza thing- can't remember the name of it but man it was tasty! After dinner we took a boat tour along the Seine, and I saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle! What a busy day. I love Paris and can't wait to come back here someday!
