Art Room Under Construction

I decided on this bookcase after months of perusing KSL.com & other various cheap furniture sites. I even resorted to looking at Walmart. But then, Evan said something that made sense... Why spend 100 $ for something that you only KINDA like when you can spend 150 & get exactly what you want? So I waited until October (September was a BAD saving money month what with Evan starting school, his mouth surgery & the sprinklers) and got my bookcase!!! I'll be taking pictures as soon as I get all of my books & supplies put away but I am OH SO EXCITED to have a place to do art again! I'm also going to work on my book some more.. ok-ok a few of you asked, and yes, it IS a fantasy novel, and YES it is amazing! Well, I like it. Here's where I got the idea to write....

I like to read fantasy books but I came to a point in my life where I had ready everything "good" in the library on the subject. There are quite a few books that are too difficult to "fall" into and there are even more smutty fantasy books. I'm a kid at heart so I love JK Rowling's style, no smutty adult books for me! Anyway, I had a dream (just like Stephanie Meyer- she had a dream about a sparkly vampire and da da da da! TWILIGHT evolved!) that was SUPER cool! I was escaping from this wicked queen's castle on a horse while being chased by her black knight with a crossbow, and in order to escape, I stood on the back of my horse and jumped into the air- only to turn into a golden eagle. Ok yes, I read too many fantasy books---this is obvious---- anyway, the story evolved while I was teaching & couseling at Camp Vega. The other counselors would go out & drink. I- being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints- could not & did not want to do such things, so I stayed in the cabin & told my girls stories. Several of the girls and other Mormon counselors asked where I got the "main" story from. I told them I made the whole thing up & they said that I HAD to write it down. I put it on the back-burner for about two years not really thinking I could be a writer and people would just think it was stupid. Then I moved in with my Grandma Knutson for a summer. She came downstairs & saw me reading- like- ALL the time. (Yes I also hung out with my friends but to relax from school I read before going out) One day she asked why I don't just write my own book.... and that's when I sat down & started writing Ember. I don't want to say too much about it until I've got the copyrights & what not taken care of just in case I'm actually NOT fooling myself & something works out. Otherwise it'll just be a story I tell my kids-- and that's still great right?

What else have I been up to? OH! Evan's been helping me fix my website http://www.erinimaging.com and I started a blog http://erinimaging.blogspot.com and got a flickerpage http://www.flickr.com/photos/erinimaging/ AND I took photos of David Archuletta, David Osmund & Lavell Edwards at the Ascend Gala- very cool! AND AND I started teaching that photo class for UVU AND! Yes there's more! I've also started teaching private lessons on photoshop & photography at 50.00/hr. Very fun! But I really like TAKING pictures so if anyone needs anything you just let me know. Friends & Family always get a 20% discount. I also got my new business cards printed up which I LOVE- they look like my header on my erinimaging blog-so yay Lee! You're famous!

Ok I've also been getting ready for the Skills USA Conference in Park City, starting Thursday I get to go stay in a hotel & learn how to run this club- awesome! Although I think I like being at home the most. Part of me wishes I didn't have to go.

Lastly I've been trying to be more fashionable so I don't look like a molly mormon teacher lady who looks 40 at 24. So I've been following these two blogs, Dapper Demeanor & The Style Diet. Awesome!

And I think that's about it! What's new with you?!
